now I do not condone nazism in any way shaoe or form but Hitler was an intelligent man. He convinced an entire country to think his way. The man was absolutley bonkers, but briliant. He was a captavating to speaker and knew exactly how to get an audiences attention. He studied with a magician, and went from being a poor wannabe artist to being the fuhrer of germany its crazy when you think about it.

I was inspired by an article that two kids in high school, put quotes from Mein Kempf in their yearbook nothin like all jus must die but thoughtful and intelligent quotes. Why does that make the news?

Okay so my Mum's leaving for houston tomorrow morning. And it will be just me and my Dad for 2 weeks. Should be fun. We went out for dinner because the salmon we were supposed to have didn't defrost. We decided to go to Sahara. [it would be great if it was called safari because then i could say "safari so goodie!"] Tonight was more full than ususal and the food was excellent! Then a guy with a casio type synthesizer went to the little stage and started playing some wierd stuff. Ya know Lebanes music. so after 5 or so minutes he introduces A Belly Dancer. So this girl dressed all in sparkley red comes out. She starts dancing. Goes round to all the tables and when she comes to ours does the ususal thing turns around dances et. etc. then sees me and like ashakes her... well nevermnd but directly at me. Did this twice! Only to me. Somewhat awkward considering my parents where with me.

Zombie Nation

Ok. Here is my idea for a movie. I actually have been thinking of this for around a year now so don't make fun of it, or i won't let you be an extra.

So set in the seventies, eighties, or nineties there is a punk band. Now while on tour the worst happens. Fucking Zombies break out. now im not talking the usual horror movie zombies, i'm talking immediate reaction, violent, fast moving, punk rock zombies. For some reason the music this band plays drives them wild. so instead of shambling around, they go nuts and DESTROY EVERYTHING IN SIGHT.

I will have that something that gets everywhere easily and especially affects teens will be the cause (I think something like a music video) so in one scene, someone in the venue gets turned into a zombie, then gets into the mosh pit can you believe how crazy that would be? And the band doesn't have a clue as to what is going on until halfway through, then they or the government gets them to find a way to stop the zombies with the power of rock. Or blow the shit out of these zombies with nukes.

Ambition - Subway Sect.

An intersesting song. It also helps to redeem myself from the matchbook romance incident. a song about god knows what by a band from the 70's. Intersting synthesizer use. Typical punk vocals totally flat.

Grey Day - Madness.

Ah Madness. One of my favorite bands and an integral part of the Two-Tone era. This song is almost depressing compared to their other songs like House of Fun or Baggy Trousers. Excellent lyrics in this song and it also helps to redeem me for my last post.

El Baile Y El Salon - Cafe Tacuba.

Cafe Tacuba, what can I say about them. A Spanish band who are greatly influcend by different styles of music. This song being slower than their others and a (suprisingly good) live recording. It is not one of my favorites i muche prefer Las Persianas or No Controles.

Miss Take - Horrorpops.

An excellent song by an excellent band. The Horrorpops have managed to turn the psychobilly genre upside down. Featuring Kim Nekroman of the Nekromantix, Patricia Day, Geoff Kreosge of Tiger Army, Niedermier, and some crazy Go-Go Dancers they make some crazy music. ranging from psychobilly to ska to old style rock n' roll. One of my favorite songs off of their debut album it has excellent vocal work and Patricia does an excellent job on the slap bass.

(My Baby Does) Good Sculptures - The Rezillos.

Another excellent song from the 70's. Amazingly well done considering that it uses actual chords AND a guitar solo (sort of). Absolutley excellent bass line and a good rythym, no secret meanings in this song. It's about a man who loves a woman, because she is an excellent sculptor.

five songs on shuffle - write a small review

Teenage Kicks - The Undertones.

This song is good though not excellent. A tad repetetive yet still rocks face. Considered quite revolutionary and an integral part of the punk scene. An overall good song yet not a favourite of mine.

The Big Issue - Chumbawamba.

A small group of anarchists who achieved chart success with "Tubthumper". I stole this CD from my Father and whenever I listen to it it is a throw back to the 90's. This song is quite good yet goes on a bit. In my personal opinion it could have been shorter and i would have preferred if it didnt have the odd sound clip at the end. But this song is awesome.

Hard as Nails - Coffin Nails.

I got this song of the "AMP Presents: V.5 - Psychobilly. Psychobilly as mentioned in a previous entry is an odd mixture of rockabilly, goth, punk, and scifi movies. This song has a good rythym and excellent musicianship. i have absolutley no clue as to what it's about but i do enjoy listening to it very much.

My Eyes Burn - Matchbook Romance.

Ah the shame of my CD collection. Whereas I would love to say i listen exclusivley obscure music I don't. To be honest I rarely listen to this song. I got it off of the punk-o-rama 9 disc which I bought as a hopeless atempt too seem up to date with the music scene sadly i am not.

If The Kids Are United - Rancid

Originally by the seminal Oi! band Sham 69 this song is very anthemetic. I quite happily sing along to this one while alone or riding around with friends. Although I only know the lyrics "If the Kids Are United, They Will Never Be Divided!". It is a fun song to listen to and Matt Freeman does some excellent bass work.

Many of you will have noticed the lack of true "Punk Rock" but my musical tastes have expanded recently. I no longer listen to music for the genre but for how it sounds, the lyrics, and how it makes me feel. All of these songs are extremely good and I recommend these bands to anyone looking for something fun to listen to.

Yester day I decided I should try the noble sport of snowboarding. I went to Canada Olympic Park and decided rented a board, a helmet, and boots, after strapping myself into this clunky gear I went on the chair lift, it got stuck halfway to top of the hill. While sitting in the cold Canadian weather dangling a few hundred feet above the ground for aroun 20 minutes I realized that this could be a bad omen. It was. So after the chair lift activated and shut down a few times we were at the top of the hill. Now I strap my other boot on and put the leash on my ankle I decided to go down the "terrain" side of the hill. I must have fallen at least twenty times in the first hour. well it turns out i was trying to ride "goofy" when I needed to ride regular. after that i got better. Have you ever been speeding down a hill almost lying down horizantal then gone through a net fence and not been seriously injured? cause it is fun! on one time i went off of a jump slipped at the top and continued to slide done the almost vertical slope baord first with snow flying in my face. when i recovered and got back up there was a half inch layer of frost over my face. i probably should have invested in a pair of snow goggles. i then talked to some people i knew from school who then informed methat i had icicles hanging off of my eyebrows and eyelashes. my *two* shirts were both literally froazen in place. i was soaked, cold, and hurting but i had one of the most exhilirationg times of my life. fun in sun. i mean snow wharever you get what i mean.
